The Stateswomen had just two competitors at the meet in junior Claire Toler and sophomore Brianna Hickey.“We didn’t finish where we wanted to at sectionals but we’re young and we’ll improve on that,” Webster
Groves coach Ken Manwarring said. “The experience that these two got will certainly help.
With a goal of finishing in the top 100, both runners went out a little quick as the pace was hurried in the first miles. Toler looked strong the whole day and finished 99th with a time of 22:03.
“She was right on pace,” Webster Groves coach Ken Manwarring said. “She did a super job.”
Hickey placed 135th with a time of 23:01.
Hickey heads a strong pack of sophomores for Webster Groves.
The Stateswomen bring back their top ten runners from the year, so hopefully there will be more of a pack of the orange and black next fall.
“We were very young with the bulk of our team being sophomores and freshman,” Manwarring said. “I hope to get a lot back and then some”
