Meramec Holiday Festival all-tournament team

The all-tournament team for the 32nd Meramec Holiday Tournament:

Mike Messer (Lafayette)

Ryan Pierson (CBC)

Ryan Rosburg (Marquette)

Deaires Tate (McCluer)

Jordan Wilson (Hazelwood Central)

Pierson, CBC’s 6-foot-10 senior center who has signed with Northeastern University, was the only repeat all-tournament team member from the previous year. He is the fourth CBC player to be two-time all-tournament selection at Meramec, joining three-time pick Larry Hughes (1994, 1995, 1996), Tamarr Maclin (1998, 2000) and Jeremy Sharpe (2004, 2005).

The Ken Braden Sportsmanship Award was given to Parkway West.

The leading scorer for the tournament was McCluer’s Boga, a junior, who averaged 19.8 points per game in leading the Comets to a third-place finish. His teammate, Tate, a junior forward, led the tournament in rebounding (11.8 per game) and blocked shots (5.5 per game).
