5 Questions With
Chaminade junior Bradley Beal. Beal, a 6-4, 190-pound guard at Chaminade, currently leads the area in scoring at 30 ppg. The 16-year-old from University City, who has verbally committed to the University of Florida, has already accomplished plenty on the basketball court, leading the Red Devils to the 2009 Class 5 state basketball championship and as a key member of the U.S. under-16 national team that won a gold medal in the world championships in Argentina last summer.
Which four current players from the St. Louis area – other than any of your teammates – would you pick for your team in a pickup game?
That’s difficult. I’d take Shaq Boga (McCluer), big Ryan (Pierson, CBC), Ben McLemore (Wellston) can score pretty well, and then probably (Darion) Rackley (CBC).
What sport would you like to play?
Football. I used to play and I may play next year but I’m not sure. It’s a sport that I really love. I’d probably be a wide receiver or defensive back.
What do you think about message boards?
I avoid them. It’s just people’s opinions and a bunch of rumors and stuff like that. It’s just best to stay away from that stuff.
What movie have you watched the most times?
‘Love and Basketball.’ It’s one of my favorite movies. I’ve watched it over and over and probably know every line. There is a lot in it about life.
Other than the Red Devils’ home floor, which gym do you like?
Just about anywhere because there is going to be a big crowd. I really like CBC’s a lot. It’s really big, there’s a lot of space and a lot of fans can come out.
